Description
The S55 engine under the hood of the BMW M3, M4, and M2 Competition F8x is proving it’s performance in the tuner world. With owners using these cars for road racing, drifting, drag racing, and autocross the Achilles heel of the S55 is the plastic charge pipe that tends to pop off and crack when increasing boost pressure. The VR Performance upgraded charge pipe kit will solve this issue while improving efficiency.
The VR Performance charge pipe kit is made up of the Hot Side and Cold Side sections. The hot side includes 2 multi-ply silicone pipes to replace the factory plastic ones. These new pipes help to delivery charge air efficiently to the engine. The increased volume allows for higher boost without the possibility of cracking or popping off. Precision fitment of the replacement hoses is done using mandrel molds from 3D scanning of the factory pieces.
The cold side “J-pipe” is aluminum featuring a precision mounted PCV connection which prevents check engine lights and limp mode. We have also incorporated a pre-capped 1/8″ NPT bung into each pipe for those that may want to run water/meth injection.
Each kit Includes heavy duty couplers, hose clamps, and all hardware required for the installation.
